The goal of the SCBR Bison Marketing program is to simplify bison sales for all producers that purchase genetics from Skull Creek and Medicine Pole.
Feeder Contracts
At Skull Creek, we understand that time is money. This program is designed with YOU in mind. It is our goal to make business simple and straightforward.
How It Works
1. Buy a bull, or breeding heifer from SCBR or MPB
2. Fill out a marketing application at skullcreekbisonranch.com
3. Watch your email for SCBR Forward Contracts
4. Call the number on the email to inquire, and confirm pricing with SCBR
5. Sign the contract and receive up to 20% of the contract value at your request
6. Wean your calves and contact the SCBR office to schedule shipping
7. Our team will line up the trucks
8. Load your calves and receive payment within the week (wire transfer or check)
Heifer Buyback Program
The team at Skull Creek is committed to the success of our animals, and of your herds. If you make the decision to purchase our genetics, a member of our team will visit your ranch on an annual basis to view your calf crops. At this point, an estimated number of breeding quality females will be established. These females will be valued at bull price. They will be run separate from the other feeder heifers, bred, and marketed as bred twos with the intention of promoting sound bison genetics in our industry.
Retained Ownership Opportunity
Whether you are able to feed your own bison, or you would like to feed your own animals, but lack the infrastructure, we have options for you. SCBR is partnered with multiple custom feedyards, and with North American Bison LLC. If you choose to feed your bison with us, we can guarantee timely kill dates and competitive finished prices at NAB.
